Although historians aren’t quite sure where the name originated from, in the hearts of many, Dixie represents the honorable traditions and heritage of the Old South. The term was immortalized in the eponymous classic American song, which was adopted as the unofficial anthem of the Southern states during the Civil War.
Interestingly, the song was also a favorite of President Abraham Lincoln, who instructed his military band to play it after getting news of the Confederate surrender at Appomattox Court House.
The Dixie Shirt is a classy and traditional button-down; a must have for a Southern gentleman’s wardrobe. It’s also (fittingly) constructed of 100% American cotton.
