Links To The Past: The Historic Cape Arundel Golf Club

During our time in Maine, we were lucky enough to challenge our golf skills and Long Drive Performance Collection at the iconic Cape Arundel Golf Club in Kennebunkport. Renowned not just for its exquisite design, but also for the rich history it embodies and the esteemed players who have graced its fairways. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the club was established in 1896 to foster the passion for golf in Maine. Designed by the esteemed Walter J. Travis, the course features a links-style layout, weaving through diverse terrain and showcasing the natural wonder of its surrounding environment.

At the heart of Cape Arundel sits the club house, renamed 41 House in 2011 to honor its lifelong member, President George H.W. Bush. The club has welcomed four US Presidents to its fairways, cementing its spot in golfing history. Overlooking the Kennebunk River, the clubhouse is complete with a practice green and inviting porch, allowing visitors to bask in the historical charm and picturesque views.

Summer in Kennebunkport. Previously posted Cape Arundel Golf is a great old club. Links-style w/ water views. Recommend Langford Road Lobster. Saw your ad in the Weekend WSJ (23 March). DH offers top-quality w/ the twist on prep. Glad to see DH branching out to expand client base. Highly Recommend!!!
